Cheirogaleidae
The family of dwarf lemurs includes the smallest living primate, the pygmy mouse lemur, which only weighs about an ounce (30.6 grams). Because they are found on the island of Madagascar, Cheirogaleidae species have been placed in the Lemuroidea superfamily but many feel that they are more similar to the lemurs of Africa (superfamily Loroidea). The Cheirogaleidae family is divided into two subfamilies, Phanerinae (the fork-marked lemur).
Members of the Cheirogaleidae family are nocturnal? and have large eyes which are set close to each other. Their fur is soft and thick. Cheirogaleidae generally give birth to twins.
