The Prosimian Suborder
Lorises inhabit both Africa and Asia.
Their lemur cousins, which also belong to the infraorder of Lemuriformes, are only found on the island of Madagascar.
Tarsiers, which have a separate infraorder Tarsioidea, only live on islands in Southeast Asia.

The Anthropoidea Suborder
New World monkeys, infraorder of Platyrrhini, live in the Central and South American Neotropics. This can be easily remembered when one considers that Europeans once considered the Americas the "New World" since they had only been recently discovered.

On the other hand, Old World monkeys, of the infraorder Catarrhini, inhabit Africa and Asia, lands that had been long known to Europeans.

Humans, along with the other great apes and lesser apes, are hominoids. Because of our adaptability, humans inhabit every continent on Earth except for Antartica, but the great apes are found only in Africa and Southeast Asia and the lesser apes only live in Southeast Asia.
