| Family:
Indridae
Indrids very rarely leave the trees and are very adept at vertical clinging and leaping?. There are three genera in this family, all of whom are nocturnal except for the smallest of them, the woolly lemur. The reduced dental formula of the indrids gives them a shortened snout and therefore a more monkey-like appearance.
Avahi, or woolly lemurs, are small, have a long tail, and solid brown pelage?. Propithecus, or sifakas, are medium sized, have a long tail, and have silky pelage which is mostly white. Indri are the largest lemurs, have a short tail, and silky pelage.
